All DataScouts PRO platforms now contain the new competitive rankings. These ranking are calculated with our machine-learning algorthims that predict business growth and digital footprint of the companies (based upon the Deloitte Fast Fifty and the INC5000 companies). But what does that mean for you? And how can/should you use it?
How are the scores calculated?
The DataScouts scores are calculated based on different datasources that provide a complete picture of the companies on your platform. The scores are predictive, which means they give they represent the probability that a company will grow in the near future.
High scoring actors are thus more likely to grow (digital or in business size) than lower scoring actors. To calculate the scores, data of one month is bundled. This is necessary to decrease temporary outliers.
Which scores are calculated?
The digital footprint score reflects for each actor DataScouts’ prediction of business growth based upon it’s digital presence, social media performance and findability on the web.
The business size score reflects for each actor DataScouts’ prediction of business growth based upon financial performance indicators.
For each of these scores DataScouts provides 3 graphs:
- The ranking graph: Ranking of actors based upon their score of the last full month
- The landscape graph: Competitive positioning of actors combining their score of the last full month (x-axis) with the growth of the score since the former month (y-axis)
- The evolution graph: Rolling 12 month evolution of the top ranked actors based upon their score.
These 6 new graphs provide new insights in terms of the situational awareness and its evolution. Hoovering over an actor shows you the latest scores and the significant changes. When you click on it, it allows you to get the basic insights and the possibility to dive deeper into the data. By using the new filters on top, you decide which quality percentage of data you want to include, to see only actors mentioned by your clients or actors within a specific score range.
