How to read the connections graph on DataScouts?

The connections graph displays the relationships between different actors in the ecosystem, such as investor relationships, spin-offs from universities, project members, members of associations. The connections graph allows to specify interdependencies, collaborations and connections within geographic areas, industries, enabling technologies etc.

On the platform you can make different connections, to indicate the different types of relationships possible in business and creative ecosystems. The type of connections which can be added and visualized in DataScouts are:

  1. Legal relationship (has headquarter / has subsidiary)
  2. Incubation relationship  (is a spin off from/ has produced a spin off)
  3. Accelerator (accelerated by / has accelerated)
  4. Memberships (member of / has a member)
  5. Employees (is an employee of/ has employee)
  6. Investments (has received investments from / invested in)
  7. Account manager (is an account manager of/is account manager)
  8. Collaborations (has collaboration with/collaborates with)
  9. Founder relationships (is (co-)founded by/ has (co-)founded)

To add relationships, go to the actor profile and click on the connections tab. 

If there a no connections to display yet, choose to add a connection. Otherwise choose to edit the connections. Select the type of relationship and the related party.
