The latest release of DataScouts brought Continuous Monitoring to the platform. Ecosystem owners can define concepts by using a 5 step process that starts on the homepage of the DataScouts platform as shown
Step 1: In the first step, describe the concept you want to be continuously monitored. We recommend writing a short text that explains the scope of your research question. The DataScouts platform will use this description to determine the relevance of retrieved articles and to sort the results according to this relevance. Besides a short description, we recommend providing the most relevant keywords.
Step 2: The concept search can be configured either to continuously monitor for startups related to the concept, for emerging technologies, or for market and industry trends. We select searching for market trends and industry trends as this will generate articles and content rather than companies.
Step 3: The third step allows the ecosystem owner to provide extra context.
-Contextual information about the application domain or sector(optional)
-Geographical context (optional)
-Topics that should be excluded (optional)
-Scoring of relevant actors (optional)
Step 4: Once the concept search is defined, DataScouts will start gathering articles, publications, information from ~70.000 news sites worldwide taking into account the search scope, exclude topics, or focus on a specific region in order to identify the top 100 most relevant articles. This retrieval phase can take several minutes.
