Feature: Ecosystem

Transform data into ecosystem intelligence

To fully understand the heartbeat of an ecosystem, ecosystem intelligence has to be extracted. DataScouts allows to extract ecosystem intelligence by providing the analytics and benchmarking tools to help with the process. The insights gained by the analytics and benchmarking provide the knowledge on the relationships within the ecosystem, the market trends, competitor behavior etc. Based on this ecosystem intelligence, an ecosystem lead can then make strategic decisions and gain a competitive advantage over competitors.

Analyze & Benchmark

Data gathered from monitoring the actors in an ecosystem will have to be analyzed in order to find patterns and to fully understand the heartbeat of the ecosystem. DataScouts provides a wide set of analytics to help with this process:

  • Financial graphs (e.g., funding raised, revenue)
  • Full time employment graph
  • Spider graph

DataScouts is not limited to only analyzing an ecosystem as a whole, but DataScouts also enables to compare the actors in a portfolio to other actors in the portfolio or to other portfolios. The benchmarking feature allows to uncover room for improvement and the places where necessary action is required.

Relationships between associated partners

The relationships between associated partners in an ecosystem are the final piece in understanding the complete ecosystem. An ecosystem does not exist out of individual actors but out of an interconnected web of relationships. DataScouts offers interactive visualizations to make the ecosystem data ‘come alive’ and discover the relationships between actors in the ecosystem. The circular ecosystem view displays the relationships between the different actors, i.e. spin-offs, investments, alumni, event attendance, members of an association.

Actionable insights

With a full understanding of the ecosystem’s heartbeat, valuable actionable insights can be extracted from DataScouts. Based on the uncovered relationships and the analytics, insights in, for example, upcoming market trends, new entrants, competitor movement or newly formed coalitions can be extracted. Then, based on this ecosystem intelligence, an ecosystem lead can decide who to work with, which market trend to follow or which startup to closely track!
