How ULB students delivered a strategic ecosystem mapping project for Beci with the help of DataScouts
Recently, a team of ambitious students from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) successfully completed a project to map the Brussels entrepreneurial ecosystem. The project was commissioned by Beci (Brussels Enterprises Commerce and Industry), with the goal of offering a single, intuitive tool to support local entrepreneurs by showcasing the full scope of actors, initiatives, and support systems in the region.
From Research to Strategic Insights
The team’s initial objective was clear: identify and structure key ecosystem players, incubators, accelerators, coworking spaces, and public/private programs into a single, coherent framework. Over several weeks, they consolidated more than 220 entries into a solid database.
But they went further. Using that foundation, they delivered SWOT analyses, an international benchmark, and concrete recommendations to help reposition Brussels as a thriving entrepreneurial capital.
